Construction of the New Ballpark Progresses
The construction of the New Marlins Ballpark is progressing. The east retractable roof truss has been rolled to its final position. The west panel is scheduled to be rolled to final position on December 17. The final and biggest of the three retractable roof panels, the Center, is currently underway. The retractable roof is made up of three panels (East, Center and West) that will move independent of each other or in tandem. When in the open position, the East and West retractable roof panels will roll underneath the Center Panel. The concrete structure of the bowl is near completion. Interior walls are under construction at all levels including the Field Level, Promenade Level and Vista Level. In other developments, the erection of stairs continues while the precast concrete that will support the ballpark seats are nearing completion. Seat installation is scheduled to begin in February.
